Scuba Equipment

If you want to try scuba diving, renting equipment is the way to go; especially if you are not sure what you are going to want, or if this sport is even for you. Most stores have very informative staff on hand to answer all your questions and give tips and advice on what you'll need, depending on what kind of a dive trip you're going to take. They usually have an extensive range of equipment to choose from. Some stores will rent by the hour, day, or week. Most stores will only rent their equipment to certified divers. Proof of certification will be asked for when renting, make sure you have that ready and on hand. They can recommend classes and places to go to get certified. Often discounted rates are offered to students enrolled in classes. Some stores offer Nitrox tanks for rental, but again, you must be certified to rent them. Nitrox, also known as enriched air or EAN, is a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen that has a higher percentage of oxygen and a lower percentage of nitrogen than normal air. The availability of Nitrox has grown tremendously in recent years, and is now found in most resort areas and on many live aboard dive boats. So be safe and good luck on your next diving adventure!
