Capitol KOA Kampground is set on 50 acres of beautiful rolling countryside and is the base camp for Washington DC, our nation's capitol (30 minutes), Annapolis, gem of the Chesapeake (15 minutes), and Baltimore, home of Ft. McHenry (15 minutes). The park includes Kamping Kabins and lodge, tree-shaded pavilion, swimming pool, RV and tent sites, as well as FREE wireless Internet, LP gas, planned activities, snack bar, and so much more. We have outdoor billiards and Ping-Pong, and Capitol KOA offers friendly staff.
Capitol KOA offers RV sites with 50 amp service available, as well as pull-thru sites accommodating up to 70 feet. All RV sites include picnic tables. There are also one and two room kabins, as well as the kamping lodge. Groups are welcome. Be sure to check out the camp store for your camping needs.

- Arlington Cemetery ~ Rte 3 South for 9 miles to US 50 West. (US 50 becomes New York Avenue as you go into the center of Washington.) Turn left on 9th St, then right on Constitution Ave. Continue to the Lincoln Memorial and bear left around it. Exit onto the second bridge, which is Arlington Memorial Bridge.
- Arundel Mills Outlet Mall ~ I-97 North to Rte 100 West. Take the right exit onto Arundel Mills Blvd. At the light, turn left into the mall.
- Babe Ruth’s Museum ~ Take I-97 North to I-695 West, and exit off I-695 West to I-95 North. Take I-95 North toward Baltimore to I-395 “Downtown” exit. Follow the signs for Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd (MLK). Once on MLK, turn right at the second light, which is Pratt Street. Once on Pratt, go through one light (Penn St) to the first small side street on the right (Emory St).
- Baltimore Inner Harbor ~ Travel I-97 North to the I-695 W (Baltimore Beltway) Exit. Follow I-695 W, and take Exit 7B, which is I-295. Continue into the center of Baltimore. Immediately after the road makes a sharp right jog, turn right on Pratt St. Inner Harbor will be on the right. On your return, head west on Lombard Street and turn left on Greene St. (Greene St becomes Russell St.) Follow signs for Glen Burnie and I-97 South (via I-695 Baltimore Beltway). Take Exit 4 (I-97 South / Rte 3), and follow I-97 South approximately 8 miles. Take Exit 10A. Follow camping signs.
- Baltimore Oriole Games ~ At Camden Yards. City bus pick-up one hour before the game at Benfield Park & Ride (2 miles from Capitol KOA).
- Fort McHenry National Monument — Home of the Star Spangled Banner ~ Take I-97 North to I-695 West, and exit off I-695 West to I-95 North. From I-95 North, take Exit 55, Key Hwy, and follow Fort McHenry signs on Key Hwy to Lawrence St. Turn left on Lawrence St. and then left on Fort Ave. Proceed one mile to the park.
- Mt. Vernon ~ Rte 3 South to US 50 West to I-95 South. Cross Woodrow Wilson Bridge, take the first exit, and stay in the right lane. Go two blocks to George Washington Parkway. Turn right and follow the Parkway to Mt. Vernon.

- National Aquarium in Baltimore ~ Travel north on I-97 to I-695 West. Take I-695 West to I-95 North toward Baltimore. Take the I-395 North exit (Exit 53) toward Downtown. Take I-395 North toward Downtown / Inner Harbor, and stay in the left lane. Where the road divides, take the left fork; I-395 becomes South Howard St. You will pass Camden Yards, on the left. Turn right onto West Pratt St; the National Aquarium is on the right.
- National Zoo ~ Car: Rte 3 South to US 50 West to I-95 North. Take I-95 North and drive the left lanes to I-495, which will split off to the left as I-95 continues north. Take Exit 33 (Connecticut Ave), and go left at the end of the ramp into town. The zoo will be on your left. Metro: Rte 3 South to US 50 West. Exit at the New Carrollton Metro Station. Catch any train leaving and ride to the Metro Center. Change to a Red Line train to Woodley Park. Exit the station and walk north up Connecticut Ave.
- Six Flags America Amusement Park ~ Travel Rte 3 South approximately 9 miles. Go under the US 50 underpass; Rte 3 becomes Rte 301. Continue on Rte 301 for 4 miles, and exit right onto Rte 214 West. Go 2 miles; Six Flags America is on the right.
- United States Naval Academy Visitor’s Center ~ Travel I-97 South to US 50 East, and take MD 70 / Rowe Blvd (Exit 24). Continue on Rowe Blvd to College Ave (MD 450), and turn left on MD 450 to King George St. Turn right on King George St, and go about half a mile.
- Washington, DC (Downtown) ~ Rte 3 South for 9 miles to US 50 West. (US 50 becomes New York Avenue as you go into the center of the city.) Turn left on 9th St. Turn right on Constitution Ave.
