Yup, that's right, this was the home to the legendary Buffalo Bill Cody and is still one of the best places to visit and experience life in the Old West. Cody KOA Kampground has long since been a favorite of travelers looking for a Midwest adventure. From the nightly rodeo shows to the beauty and splendor of the Yellowstone National Park, it is all within your grasp here at our park.
We have 120 total available camping sites with 50 of those being pull-thru accessible and 60 offering full hookups. Our full hookup sites offer 30/50 amp power and phone lines that are modem friendly. For those of you that don't travel with the kitchen sink try one of our 21 Kamping Kabins. Propane and a dump station are also available on site for your convenience.

There is always so much to do while visiting Cody, Wyoming that the hardest thing to accomplish is fitting it all into one visit. After your event filled days exploring the vast area attractions around Cody KOA Kampground, come on back and enjoy some of the many amenities offered right here in the park. CODY KOA – Located only one hour from the east entrance to Yellowstone National Park, our KOA is the perfect base camp for your western adventure. From the beautiful views and abundant wildlife to historical sites and outdoor recreation, we have it all.

Take in the Natural Beauty!
- Yellowstone National Park – Don’t miss Old Faithful! A trip to Wyoming would not be complete without a visit to Yellowstone. At over two million acres, there is something for everyone; mountains, lakes, geysers, buffalo, bears and more. Enjoy hiking, fishing, picnicking and photography! Open year‑round — For more information, ask at the Office. There is an entrance fee. Located 52 miles west of Cody.
- Red Canyon River Trips & Wild Mustang Tours – Put some fun and excitement in your day with whitewater rafting! Choose from four different trips to suit your needs. Call 307‑587‑6988 for schedules. Go on a wild horse tour at an 110,000 acre refuge where you will see wild mustangs as well as eagles and antelope. There are two tours daily at 8:30 am and 5:30 pm. Admission is charged for both and they are located in Cody.
- Buffalo Bill Cody Scenic Byway – See the beauty of Wyoming as you follow the north fork of the Shoshone River through the Wapiti Valley to the east entrance of Yellowstone. This byway is known for its amazing views and abundant wildlife. The drive begins 24 miles west of Cody and is 27.5 miles long.
- Cody Trolley Tours – “Give us one hour, we’ll give you 100 years!” With two narrators, photos and relics, you will learn about Buffalo Bill Cody and the area as you drive past historical sites and beautiful scenery. There are three tours a day Monday to Saturday and two on Sunday from June through September. Admission is charged. The 22‑mile tour begins at the Irma Hotel in downtown Cody.
Enjoy the Wild, Wild West!
- Old West Miniature Village & Museum – The Old West continues on in this village where hundreds of miniature figures trace the history of Montana and Wyoming from the 1600s to the 1890s! The museum displays hundreds of Western and Indian artifacts. Open daily 8:00 am to 8:00 pm from mid-May to mid‑September. Free admission. Located in Tecumseh’s Trading Post in Cody.
- Irma Hotel – “Where history lives on.” Buffalo Bill built this hotel in 1902 and named it for his daughter. There is the hotel, a restaurant and a saloon for you to enjoy! Don’t miss the free nightly gunfights held Monday through Saturday, June through September at 6:00 pm. Located in the heart of Cody.

- Museum Of The Old West – A trip to Old Trail Town is a must for anyone interested in the story of the American West. See the 26 buildings dating from 1879‑1901, horse‑drawn vehicles and an extensive collection of Native American artifacts and Western memorabilia. Open daily 8:00 am to 8:00 pm from mid‑May to mid‑September. Admission is charged. Located on the west side of Cody.
- Cody Nite Rodeo – “Ride ‘em cowboy!” See high-flying broncos, fearless rodeo clowns, death-defying bull riders, cowgirl barrel racers and more in the Rodeo Capital of the World. Every night at 8:00 pm from June 1 to August 31. Admission is charged. Wheelchair accessible. Located in Cody.
- Sierra Trading Post – For famous name brands and great deals, stop by the “log cabin” store. Closeouts and overstocks of outdoor gear, clothing, home decor and more are available. Open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm; Sunday, 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Located in Cody.
- Buffalo Bill Dam Visitor Center – This dam was once the highest in the world at 325 feet and is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Enjoy a self‑guided audio tour of the dam and the lake. Open daily 8:00 am to 8:00 pm from May to September. Free admission, except for audio tour. Located six miles west of Cody.
- Buffalo Bill Historical Center – Visit five museums under one roof! Learn about the life and legend of Buffalo Bill Cody, view artwork depicting life in the West, see Plains Indian art and artifacts, see the exhibition of rare firearms and visit the museum of natural history. Open daily 8:00 am to 8:00 pm May to mid‑September and 8:00 am to 5:00 PM mid-September through April. Admission is charged. Wheelchair accessible. Located in Cody.
- Cody Mural – The Mormons played a significant role in the history of Wyoming, blazing trails and farming the land. A mural depicting their life and times was painted by Edward Grigware on the domed ceiling of the LDS Church in 1951. There is also a second room filled with western art of Mormon settlers. Open Monday through Saturday, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm; Sunday, 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm from June 1 to August 31 and daily 10:00 am to 4:00 pm from September 1 to 15. Free admission. Located in downtown Cody.
