Open all year and being the closest RV Park to downtown Louisville, KY (4 minutes), with easy access to both I-65 and I-64, makes Louisville Metro KOA ideal for overnight or a base camp for extended days. All the conveniences at the RV Park, include full hook-ups and cable TV at every RV site. Kabins and tent camp sites are available. All campers have access to free wireless Internet. Full showers and restrooms, along with a Kamp Kitchen is available to all campers. Our store offers groceries, beverages of all types, basic RV supplies along with gasoline, diesel and propane. Camping World and RV Service is next door along with tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools a half block away. We're just blocks from the Ohio River where you can enjoy riverfront dining with a spectacular view of the Louisville skyline.

LOUISVILLE METRO KOA

Welcome to Southern Indiana the Sunny Side of Louisville! We are the closest Campground to Metro Louisville(just across the river). You’ll be within minutes of museums, galleries, festivals and more. Registered KOA guests may use the following facilities at the Holiday Inn Hotel (a short walk): indoor/outdoor heated swimming pool, game room and miniature golf.

  • Churchill Downs and Kentucky Derby Museum – Churchill Downs was built in 1874 and the first Kentucky Derby was run here in 1875. It is the most famous horserace held each year. The museum has everything a racing fan could want: hands-on exhibits, images and artifacts. Watch “The Greatest Race” on a 360-degree multi-image screen and don’t miss the guided tour including the finish line and winner’s circle. Museum hours are Monday - Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm; Sunday, 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Admission is charged. Located three miles from downtown Louisville.
  • Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom – Two parks in one! Enjoy the year-round thrill rides of Six Flags and in the summer, add the fun of Hurricane Bay Water Park. From Ferris Wheels to mega coasters, there is something for everyone. The water park has a wave pool, a river, waterslides and more. Plus, there are games, food and live entertainment! Hours vary; call 502-366-2231. Admission is charged. Located at the intersection of I-65 and I-264.
  • Louisville Zoo – Visit King Louie, the white alligator who lives with 1300 other animals at the Louisville Zoo. There are elephants, meerkats, lions, tigers, polar bears and much more! See Lorikeet Landing where brilliantly colored birds eat out of your hand. Open daily, September - March from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm and April - Labor Day, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. Admission is charged. Wheelchair accessible. Located 15 minutes from downtown Louisville from I-64 and I-65.
  • Louisville Science Center and IMAX Theater– Discover the fun at Louisville Science Center. Science is brought to life with exciting interactive exhibits; there is something here for everyone! Catch an IMAX show on the four-story screen. Open Monday - Thursday, 9:30 am - 5:00 pm; Friday - Saturday, 9:30 am - 9:00 pm; Sunday, 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Admission is charged. Wheelchair accessible. Located in downtown Louisville.
  • Muhammad Ali Center – “I am the greatest!” This international education and cultural center was inspired by Muhammad Ali’s ideals of dedication and respect. Experience the interactive exhibits, read his poetry and see his art. View footage of his boxing matches, practice shadowboxing and see how you match up on the speed bag! Open Monday - Saturday, 9:30 am - 5:00 pm; Sunday, 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Admission is charged. Wheelchair accessible. Located in downtown Louisville.
    RIGHT BEFORE YOUR EYES…
  • Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory – A must-see for any baseball fan! You’ll know when you’ve arrived when you see the world’s biggest bat leaning up against the building. Inside, you’ll see Babe Ruth’s bat notched with his homeruns and learn the history of the company and baseball’s greatest hitters. You can even see bats being made before your very eyes! Factory tours run from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Admission is charged. Wheelchair accessible. Located in downtown Louisville.
  • Glassworks – Watch artists at work! See the magic, mystery and beauty of glassblowing at these three studios and two galleries. Guided tours are available on Saturdays and self-guided tours are available Monday - Friday from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Admission is charged. Located in downtown Louisville.

    TAKE A LOOK INTO THE PAST!
  • Howard Steamboat Museum – Built in 1894 by steamboat builders, this stately home is decorated with original furnishings from brass chandeliers to stained glass windows. Enjoy the ship models, photographs and artifacts from a shipping era gone by. Don’t miss the back porch where they have recreated a pilothouse complete with a pilot wheel that you can steer! Open Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm; Sunday, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Admission is charged. Located in Jeffersonville, Indiana on I-65N.

    OUTDOOR FUN!
  • Falls of the Ohio State Park – Visit the home of the Devonian Fossil Beds, composed of 400 million year old coral reefs! You can actually walk across 220 acres of fossil beds. Enjoy hiking, picnicking, fishing and bird watching. The park is open seven days a week from dawn to dusk and the Interpretive Center is open Monday - Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm; Sunday, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Admission is charged. Located in Clarksville, Indiana; Exit 0 on I-65.
  • Waterfront Park – Visit the most beautiful park on the banks of the Ohio River! With 85 acres of fun and relaxation, there are walkways for biking and jogging, picnic areas, plenty of benches and playgrounds for the kids. See the amazing outdoor art, play in the fountains and enjoy the view! Open daily, 6:00 am - 11:00 pm. Free Admission. Located in downtown Louisville.
